That is patently incorrect, go watch the video from Wago. Properly inserted the Wago connectors are far more reliable and clamp on both sides where a wire nut may or may not hit multiple contact points. I have NEVER had one fail. Also you make the case because you flex that if you don't know how to twist 3-wire that there is inherently a failure issue. How bout 5-wire and mixed gauge? Among all the benefits of Wago you can easily back probe them and since you never have to twist the connectors you don't have to worry about resleeving, branching, or upgrading and untwist/retwist. I understand old habits, but the technology on Wago is just flat out better, more repeatable (esp for DIY folks), and more reliable. Yes they are more expensive but the time and rework saved are well worth it. I advise all DIY folks to use these, commercial electricians have their own preferences and TBH if you have spent 20 years twisting copper understand why you would be suspect of these.
These are simply FANTASTIC. Yes they are far more expensive than wire nuts, but they are so easy to use. Even though it isn't recommended, it makes it far safer to work hot with these. Remove the hot wire, capture it in the wago, and you can do whatever needs to be done without worry. The last connections you make are back in the hot, then button it up.

Highly, highly recommended. These are all I use, I threw out my big box of wire nuts.
If you need a large quantity this is a better deal

Bought some a few months ago at $11.45, but might as well get some more as I've used a few from the last pack. These things really are awesome, way better than using wire nuts.

Love these, and have restocked a few times as I've done wiring work at my house, building my workshop, and at our rental house. Just so much easier to keep things organized, and they fold into boxes much easier than wire nuts IMO. Much more expensive than wire nuts obviously, but unless you are using hundreds/thousands of them, it's worth it for the ease of use.

Wire nuts make a much better connection, but there are times when these are so much more convenient. How good are you at twisting 3 wires together for a wire nut? And they are good for temporary connections.

Wagos are pretty awesome. I picked up a set while traveling in Europe years ago and remember thinking "this is the future".

It's not just because they're so easy to use, it's because traditional wire nuts appear deceptively more simple but are way more easy to get wrong by people who don't know what they're doing (and some that do).

I'm curious because I'm currently renovating a house, will an old school building inspector see these and say nope?

trying to figure out why you would need the 5 wire ones. Seems like 2, 3 maybe 4 would be used, but 5?
