I used to buy apps all the time, but now I try to avoid them because every app, no matter how insignificant, now requires a monthly fee.
What they'll probably do is just abandon the base Notability app everyone paid for and introduce a "brand new", "upgraded" subscription version of Notability (Notability Pro, Notability 12, etc.) that will technically be a new app.

I've never used Notability but I did pay full price for Good Notes 5 and have enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing, OP.

That's good to know. In app, I see a "complementary" subscription until November 1, 2022. I guess that means I would get all updates until then, but no future updates after 2022.

Me too. I had no idea about the Notability announcement but I'm glad they rectified the situation.
