However there are multiple studies that show melatonin is not a great supplement. Can lead to anxiety depression. And kills your dopaminergic drive aka less motivated to get moving and do stuff. I am currently still experimenting on whats best to use albeit small microdoses of melatonin did in fact work. (I bit a small peice off a 3mg pill..can easily last 5-10 nights but I'm not even worried if I throw the piece out)
Although like I previously mentioned, I no longer use it for the main fact that it can inhibit dopamine which far outweighs the sleep benefits.

5mg does nothing to me so 300mcg would do even less lol
and in fact taking too much, i.e. 5 mg can cause unintended consequences, such as not even being able to fall asleep
do this
30-45 minutes before you plan to lie down in bed
take 300mcg (ideally liquid dropper you can measure)
at 30 minutes, lay down in bed, maybe tv on or some music for next 15-20 minutes, but lights off
after 15-20 minutes, turn the tv/music off and see if it works for you
Very likely false. Less is more when it comes to melatonin. Taking too much of it can even interfere with sleep
300 mcg is the preferred dosage for age related sleep problems. 600 mcg is the preferred dosage for insomnia.

You are definitely hurting your body, do some research (not the first search results paid by big pharma), 0.5-1mg is max a healthy adult needs. If it's not working it's because you are masking other more important underlying conditions, listen to your body!
