Bought this a few weeks ago (for $10 as well), it sucks. Doesn't hold in water at all from melting ice or condensating cold foods. Stitching didn't give me much confidence on the "lid" lasting too long.

I've had one of these for a year or two. It doesn't work well. Definitely do not put ice in it. Ice packs won't stay frozen long. You can still get some use out of it for short outings though.
