Sony == Apple of TV. Buy from third party, slap a logo and get away charging twice.
Disclaimer: this is sightly exaggerated to rile up Sony fans' emotion. I was a fan too once upon a time. I wish Sony made reasonable products. Why can't I buy x90j in 85" and why the heck the x91j missing xr and cognitive? Crazy!! Why would you then call it "91"? At least call it x89j may be. Pure stupidity
Having your own processor is now called "buying from a third party"? GTFO!
They are buying panels. And people are not quite sure what picture processing sony provides now a days. The X90J has better processing than X91j according to rtings. My gripe is simple. I am looking to buy an 85" as a gift for an extended family member, Personally I gave up on Sony few months ago after waiting on them for years to do actual innovation and ended up buying a QN90A 85" for myself. But that family person is a big fan of Sony. My gift budget is around $2K. Was expecting to pull off a Sony X90J 85". Then shockingly found out X90J doesn't have 85". And X91J is just rebranded X900h.
BTW, a while ago I called Sony engineers kindergarteners who know their alphabets. Every year they put a new alphabet without changing anything. These are all coming from a frustrated buyer (me) who really wanted a Sony TV (my last one was a Sony) but couldn't find a Sony that even comes close to QN90A (the one i ended up buying). Note: I don't believe in OLEDs, picture quality or what not. I have a very bright room and with kids, most of my TV watching is during daytime. Not to mention burn in risk. And before you claim OLED burn in risk is overhyped just follow the insurance providers. They are the expert and they have the data. That's why they are so reluctant to cover burn in.
Now you tell me which number looks better, particularly for a bright room. Don't look with aggregate score (which is also within margin of error. 8.8 vs, 8.6. Check this book if you have time: https://smile.amazon.com/How-to-L...B01C4RPH8Q
EDIT: please don't forget the crazy markup Sony wants for basically an LG panel with a mediatek processor (I know there could be a co-processor). I paid $2806 with tax included for my 85" Samsung QN90A. This 65" will actually cost more than that
Edit 2: As I am typing this message, my QN90A is literally stuck with some picture in paused mode. I could care less. I would have a higher blood pressure just thinking when to pause and when to turn off A90J. Refer to my earlier post about insurance companies. OLED burn in is real.

Your link contains measurable pq differences as mentioned. Your statement is probably more accurately said as I want a brighter led local dimming tv. The OLED panel is better in ever other picture quality score they provide.
Yep sony is pricey but if you compare local dimming led prices they'd be comparable to what youve listed for the Samsung panel. I'm not arguing with you but you're comparing apples and oranges. The Sony flagship OLED is a great tv as is the Samsung tv you have. They are for different audiences applications, in my opinion.
GT has been $3k for months, so this is a mediocre deal, and only better if you use payboo to cover tax.
I'd rather not jump through multiple hoops and middle men if I can help it. I prefer to use a well known local retailer I've used for ages ( > 2 decades) to purchase and deliver my flagship tv. So, if I see a deal by one - I jump on it.
More than a quarter of the price off on a flagship tv from a retailer such as this one is a fairly decent deal. But that's just my opinion. *shrug

Lol samsung is fine if you don't care about picture quality. Might as well use a VA panel computer monitor while you are at it.
A 65" G1's price until recently. Add in a 100$ LG stand and there's barely a 300 dollar difference between the current G1's price on Amazon and this TV of the year (according to Value Electronics shootout)

There was a recent deal on the 65" G1 for $2300 that was rated....+0.

How can you not believe in measurable pq data?
