Router works as expected. Maxing out my 300mbps internet here in SoCal with this router across a 1,600sqft house. The software is pretty bland though and not very intuitive. Settings save sloooooowly and a bit frustrating waiting around.

I bought this at Costco a bit over a month ago when it was on sale for $149.99. It replaced an Apple Airport Time Capsule that was failing. I had previously had a disastrous experience with a Linksys Velop mesh system that bricked that I returned. Setup was quick, and since I set it up using the same network name and encryption all of my devices (computers, TVs, NEST, etc.) just connected without problems. I only set it up about two weeks ago, but so far so good. It also fixed problems that I was having with HomeKit devices becoming unresponsive. I also like that Netgear is a U.S. company, unlike so many router manufacturers that are Chinese owned like TP Link (I don't trust the CCP and you shouldn't either).

It is a good deal as most ax routers are $200 and up. There are a few under $100 but ax routers with speeds lower than 4000 are not worth the hassle. There is a similar Netgear router with 5200 speed on sale at Best Buy for $20 more. There is also a 5400 version, but it is $217. IMHO, I would probably get this one or the Best Buy one at $20 more. Best Buy's version gives you almost 1 gig more in 5ghz speed.

I bought the TP Link C4000 from Costco during the same deal last Black Friday and it has been rock solid. My only concern is that it has not had any firmware updates in 2 years. Routers always seem to have security issues and TP Link has not been upgrading any of their firmware much since COVID began. Netgear does update theirs often, but I have had trouble with their updates causing more issues than they fix in the past.

Yeah. Owning a router that has little to no support or security updates from the Mfr is a red flag for me. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Oddly enough, I also got a c4000 almost exactly 2 years ago...it died today and won't give any wifi signal. Headed to Costco to grab the one mentioned in this thread.
