And your definition of screen real estate is unconventional too - typically it is absolutely about how much can be seen on a given browser window, etc. This is a function of pixels and scaling, yes, but a 4K monitor at 200% scaling for you will look amazing, I use 125% and I can absolutely fit more work on my screens and have it be very clear than you could approach on a large 1080p panel like you describe.
1440p text on a 32" is a little blurry for me, but that's what I use for a gaming monitor and you're right, in games it's much harder to tell but it's nice not to play the 4K pixel tax!

Actually I miss my curved monitor. I used to call it a gimmick too, but after switching back I realize what I was missing. On a big monitor its easier to work on a curved one.
Why buy 32" that's not 4k unless only for games and movies?
Doesn't make sense in 2021.
Don't see why not.

I'm someone with a 34" Monitor and I regret not getting curved.

Not exactly, most graphics cards can push 4k even the UHD built in ones in laptops, but won't be able to run demanding graphic games at full resolution smoothly unless you have a graphics card. You will need for sure a graphics card for 5k monitors though even for work (non-gaming)
