Should do nicely to buy 3x and use the Amex offer making each $160 + tax.

Which one do you recommend that I can buy for $160 + tax that isn't a Chromebook?
I am serious.
I have a few nieces and nephews and not a lot of $$$.

The Celeron N4020 actually has a higher geekbench score than my 2008 Core 2 Duo E8400. So I would say that the CPU belongs in 2008.

If I wanted ChromeOS, I would buy a Chromebook.
I want a Windows 10 laptop.

If someone wrotes that a $199 laptop is underpowered,
I'd like to know which laptop for comparable price he considers good.
If there aren't any, then how much more do I have to pay?
$50? $100? $200?

.

While I have not used a laptop with these specs recently the specs of this laptop in terms of speed is equivalent to a 10 - 15 year old computer. I could only imagine how painful it will be to use, even for basic tasks. Do you really want to spend $200 on a paperweight?

I used to find decent spec laptops in the $250 - $350 price range but with the economy, supply shortage, etc it seems like a decent entry spec laptop is now $400 - $500.

I would think that the SSD makes the performance better.
I am not sure how common SSDs were 15 years ago.
I put in a SSD on 10 year old laptop I bought used on eBay that did not have a hard drive, and it is excellent for simple tasks like Facebook etc.
