USDA PRIME ribeye has been $26 per lb at my Costco since mid this year.
However, I don't really like the amount fat Riley has let alone A5.

That is what I going to do, slice them into 16 pieces so roughly 0.75 oz each piece, vacuum and freeze them. Reserve for major festivals (few in coming months) and events.

You know this country is filled with people from all over the world but they still call themselves US Citizens. American Wagyu are just Japanese cows bred in America.

its not even close to as good as Japanese A5 (the legit stuff)
Look at the D'Artagnan wagyu on costco.com. That looks like a bit above Choice. It's wagyu, technically, and maybe it'll taste better than your normal steak, but maybe not.
That said, I remember trying to hunt down lower grade Kobe/Wagyu in Asia (USDA prime and below), just because I was wondering if there was a flavor difference at the low end. I couldn't find any, which I thought was kind of strange.
Anyway, in the US the Wagyu brand is so diluted as to be meaningless, which is sad.
