While this price is great on face value as someone who owns this camera I will be the first to tell you the dynamic range is very bad and I have an L lens on it. At some point I am going to get rid of it and probably get a Sony A7iii.
If you buy the EF to RF mount adapter, yes you can use EF mount lenses on the RF system (like this body). You can also use EF-S lenses, but since they are designed for APS-C sensors the RP will crop down to 1.6x, ~11mp.
Depending on the lens, the EF to RF adapter is a great idea. Other times the RF equivalent (if available) could be worth the upgrade.
No one. This is the cheapest full frame. I think

Most of the accessories are junk, so if you would like, you can chose the base option and get 3500 rewards points instead of 899 points.
As for the camera, love my RP. I paid 1600 for the body and 24-240mm. The 24-105 STM is also a great lens, not quite L glass build quality, but optically it is a great lens. So long as you arent trying to shoot super high dynamic range shots this is a great general use camera. Pair it with DXO PL5 for denoise, and you can shoot just about anything even through ISO 25600.
What are the direct competitors at this price range?
The RP does not really have a direct competitor. Its a budget, lightweight mirrorless full frame camera. Nothing else really compares in its price range. You are either looking at other FF models priced a decent bit higher, or APS-C sized mirrorless cameras. Neither are directly comparable.

Has the price dropped because the new model is around the corner?
I still have all my EF L-series lenses from ~15-18 years ago...But would hate to buy the RP if the RP II is around the corner.
