"Blink Video Doorbell Standalone does not include Sync Module 2. Without a Sync Module, live-view and two-way audio are available only in response to a doorbell press or motion event. With a Sync Module or Sync Module 2 get these features anytime on-demand."
to get the whole "system" it's $60 (down from $85)
If i have free cloud with my XT2 would this have free cloud?
I believe so, this is from the Q&A on the product page:
"The Video Doorbell is compatible with both the first generation Sync Module and the Sync Module 2. With this, it can absolutely be connected to the existing Blink XT2 system that you have. It is important to note that each Sync Module can support up to 10 devices."
Just a reminder that Blink (owned by Amazon) stores your videos on their servers while other companies like Eufy have local storage that stays within your network. Something to consider.

For external use, it's no problem. Once in a while they see you coming home while it's mostly no activity and/or the mailman/lady, and the occasional crook 😁.
If I didn't already have the nest hello, I'd get this.

You can choose to store your footage locally using sync module 2. You are not obligated to use their cloud service.

Reviews state the blink sync module is still connect to cloud because you need to login to your blink account to access your videos. Allegedly sync module syncs with Amazon servers once a day to download your videos onto the connected usb.
I pre ordered this and do not have to pay for the cloud service. I already had 1 blink cam with the sync module and I still pay no monthly fees and can access the video clips in the app.

I use their sync module and it stores the clips locally. You use the blink cloud service to securely tunnel to your sync module thru your router and retrieve the clips. The only thing is that the process is very slow and very often the response I get is system is busy. But since it cost me exactly $0 I don't complain much .

That's because you're grandfathered in. Most new users will have to sign up for the subscription. I also have the grandfathered plan since I had Blink XTs and signed up for an account prior to April 15, 2020,
