using one of these right now. I like it, super fast for a chromebook... but... chrome doesn't do OLED well for some reason. Kinda seems washed out or weird. There is a word for it but I can't remember. Basically if you crank up the brightness all the time it helps but if you run it low, like watching a show in bed or something, it'll look weird. For that reason, I prefer the oled of the S7+ for content consumption.
Also the battery is rough on this due to the 4k display and it being super thin. Usb C charging is great though.
incredible, functional, very sturdy-light-weight computer
I consider myself a power user. I'm not an abuser, but def a power user.
I usually have multiple messaging apps (hangouts, viber, signal, telegram) apps open. I also have at least one virtual machine running at any time. My chrome browser takes up at least 1.5GB of ram due to all of the extensions I have installed.
I started my ChromeOS journey on one of those cheap, underpowered, 4GB of ram machines a few years ago. and was immediately turned of by how underwhelming the machine performed.
once I learned about the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook, I was very interested in getting my hands on one.
I've tried and hated tablets (iOS, Android, and Windows). Tablets are great for consumption devices but horrible for content production.
This Galaxy Chromebook gives me the best of both worlds. The machine weighs just 2.3 pounds (1.04 kg). The 4K screen is sharp, beautiful, crisp, and very nice to look at (although it's super glossy)
The touchscreen is responsive and doesn't get too dirty with fingerprints
The 360 hinge is very nice
The red color is very nice
The backlit keyboard is very functional (to change backlit brightness = Alt + screen brightness adjustment)
The build quality is great (the edge are a bit sharp)
Passive machine cooling (no fans) will make the machine super hot when busy
2x USB-C is very nice to have (I was able to easily power my LEN P44w-10 monitor off a single USB-C cable which also provides mouse and charging to the computer - YAY!)
The computer has no problems with powering my monitor AND running multiple apps, tabs within chrome
As others have mentioned, the battery life is not the best out there. expect to get 4-6 hours of life
Overall, I keep catching myself wanting to use this computer as much as I can. I have a 2019 MacBook Pro 16 with i9 proc, 64GB of ram, and a decent discreet video card
Is the machine worth $1K? prob no. I got it used for ~$500 and I'm very happy with it (I'm aware some have gotten it as low as $345 - LUCKY THEM!!!)
btw - kudos to Google for making ChromeOS so fast, lightweight and functional!!!!

After watching a bunch of reviews looks like the Samsung is similar or better except in battery life. Many reviewers said that you're lucky if you can get more than 4 hours on the Samsung, also many people prefer the 3:2 aspect ratio of the Acer than the Samsung's 16:9 for web page reading. I ordered the Samsung because of the 4K screen vs the Acer's 2K, build quality is superb on the Samsung and lighter, fingerprint reader, stylus built-in and oh that red color looks gorgeous.
My wife has this chromebook. it's her fav laptop to date. The form factor alone is fantastic, light and high performance. She is not concerned with battery life, plugged in when needed. It's been around this price for a year.
