Ask me how I remembered that verbatim?
I had the same dilemma, got this A80J 65" for this price from Costco during the last sale in September. At first it felt like lacking peak brightness, but the details are immersive. Now we got used to and it looks fantastic. We watch mostly movies. My wife streams TV during the day.
Technology wise this SONY is top-notch. Full control of adjustments.
Another + to consider - the sound is through the panel of the TV, i.e. the screen is the speakers. It rivals quality of a mid level soundbar/system, so you can save another $500+ for not spending on sound.

I don't like LGs operational system, it feels clunky. Less available apps.
Samsung doesn't support Dolby Vison - almost all new streaming content is in that format. Samsung doesn't support sound pass through, if you use fancy external audio system. Samsung's OS has less apps.

Sony has Android based OS, and pretty much any app you can imagine.

To me it was between SONY OLED and X90/X95. The X90 has higher peak brightness and scenes of daylight look more vivid and natural. However, movies in darkness will have a little glowing and cloud effect due to lesser contrast. The X90 is 2.5" thick and I don't think has the screen-as-a-speakers tech.

I would say get this for the bedroom, you'll be happy.
The 77 is waaay bigger though.

Great price. I'm also hoping they discount the 77" version. I'm trying to replace my 12 year old 65" LED TV. Would rather get a size upgrade too

I see BestBuy also has XR A80J for the same price, and wondered if the difference of the two models, with and without "C" in the naming is simply the warrantee that Costco provides?

Seems like 65" is a pricing sweet-spot for OLEDs, correct? 55" is about $1300-1400 for this Sony model and for LG C1.
