I'm calling bullcrap, let's see some screenshots with the proof. Your statement about needing them needed to be "well insulated" also doesn't make any sense, especially considering your claim, that they "run hot", in the previous sentence, but maybe English isn't your native language?

TechPowerUp is known for their reviews and they don't mention any problems with heat.

same price at Best Buy and Best Buy @ eBay
I have to agree about the BS of these running hot. These may get warm at the worst but not hot. I use one of these as an internal PS4 storage drive and have another as an external storage SSD never had any issue. Great SSD for the price.

Im using one of these as a cache drive for unRAID. Works well, gets a pending sector1 error that clears it's self up automatically.

I'd probably wait a week and see BF prices, SSDs are a pretty regular BF item.

While these work great, they also run hot. You might want to consider something else if they won't be well insulated.

The 2TB version at $185 isn't half bad, either.

I'm running out of storage on my 1TB HDD (sloooow 5400rpm and about 80% full) so I want to kill 2 birds with 1 stone. I know I should go external, but I already backup externally and don't really want to manage 3 hard drives or the hassles of an NAS setup. Advice welcomed!!

Wait a week or two I think you'll see a better 2TB deal. This is a great deal for the 1TB due to 10% cashback.

So funny that the price is the same as last year. The one I got for my PS5 ended up with a bad-sector issue that took a fair amount of troubleshooting on my part to be sure was happening. Just got my fresh warranty replacement installed and am copying PS4 games over as I type this. Here's hoping this one won't have a similar snag, because that s--- is no fun on a PS5, trust me on that.
