Great processor and display for heavy multi tasking I had one older generation H45, 10500H, and it was much smoother and faster than ryzen 5500u or intel 1135g7.
It also has a full aluminum body and small foot print very close to a regular 15.6 inch. Also great display ratio and 100 srgb

That, coupled with a 3k screen, means do not buy this expecting a little bit of gaming. Not going to happen.
OP says it is smooth, but doing what? Kind of over priced for a media consumption or office tasks. 🤷 ♂️

However, I chose the 16 Plus solely because of its screen resolution. I am going to be traveling soon, and I'll be switching between two remote VMs all day that will run at custom resolutions of approx 3000x2000. At 16 inches, my eyes can just see all of the detail of that particular resolution. This means significantly less scrolling for me as I do my job all day.
I chose the base system with only 8gb of ram (the same as this one). It arrived with Win 10, but I upgraded to Win 11, and it seems to run okay with just the 8gb. However, there is only about 500MB of ram free when running the two Remote Desktop connections simultaneously, along with Firefox and its 8-10 tabs. Therefore, I also purchased 2x8gb Crucial ram sticks from Amazon for $73 shipped, which I'm installing today. I could get by without them, but I prefer having a bit more wiggle room. The display is fine for streaming , etc. Most people would probably say it looks good to them. However, if you put it next to the XPS, the difference is instantly clear. This is all a bunch of rambling by one internet guy with a very specific use case, so take it with a grain of salt. You can always return the machine to Dell if you don't like it. Take a chance, I'd say.

I played around with this in Costco when they had them. I personally thought they felt a tad on the cheap side, but not the end of the world. I thought the screen was good. Better than all of the lower end 250 nit screen deals. The LG Gram 16 and 17 screen were better of course. Interesting the one poster said the base XPS 15 screen is better than this.
Not sure why gaming was mentioned. This isn't a gaming laptop. Happens all the time.
