In ears are not for everyone. Some do not like the feel of ear tips in their ears and/or either don't know or can't be bothered to find how to size the tips for a good seal. I bought foam tips for my pros and it's a lot more comfortable than stock tips.

Because they are not a sealed design that penetrates the ear canal. Some people find that uncomfortable. And if you walk or run in the Pros then you'll get a "thumping" echo as you move which is very annoying -- this is human physioligy and physics that will happen w/ any sealed system, not just AirPod Pros.

I have a pair of both -- I use the Pros when I'm flying or want to block out noise around me inside. I use my AirPod 3s when I'm walking around or running.

They are bigger -- I didn't think they would physically fit in my ears when I saw them. But they did, and I find them a lot more comfortable and secure fitting than my old 2s -- not that they ever were uncomfortable or fell out, even when exercising/running. As with all AirPods -- and really anything -- fit is very person-centric.
