I know the L5 Pro has a 3070 but I'd still rather have this cause 100% DCI screen and Thunderbolt, and it looks a little nicer.
Well there is no active sale on Legion 5 pro and looking into Lenovo site it appears that there is a shortage of Legion 5. The estimated deliveries are 5+ month. So this might be a worthy alternative at the moment.

You're doing professional color work? Otherwise the DCIP3 is useless
On top of that, the legion had GSYNC, something far more relevant and superior to most gamers that the Asus lacks
Keep in mind that, the Legion 5 pro 3070 32GB is 1540$, so I don't know why you'd buy this far slower 3060 model that also doesn't have a mux switch which hurts CPU performance, especially since these are QHD panels that are much harder to run then 1080p panels, especially in the future, where the 3070 and its 8gb vram is better suited. this is compounded by the fact that the Asus doesn't have a mux switch which hurts gaming performance, and the fact it's only using a 100w 3060, unlike the 130w 3060 and 140w 3070 the Legion 5's use

I bought one as I don't see any more deals on Legion 5 pro and when I was looking into delivery dates in Lenovo it says 4+ months. This laptop though is delivered in 2 days and I find the overall specs enough value for the price and enough for my gaming needs.

I'm an amateur photographer but probably wouldn't use the laptop screen for much editing just viewing photos.
I have an external GPU (3060 Ti) so could use that when the laptop is docked, that's the main advantage for me. And gen 4 NVME might be useful in the future, but the Lenovo I believe has Hynix P31s which are awesome.
I think I'd rather have the thinner/lighter (laptop and power supply both) Intel-based M16 but it's not a good value at $1500 compared to the L5 Pro, which is really in a class of its own value-wise.

Did you click through on the Lenovo? People have said the estimated date changes when you check out.

There are deals right now on the legion 5 pro and were active over two days ago, it was the prebuilt config not the custom order that was 4 months+, they had the fast ship one available, the one everyone has been getting within 2-4 days, the 32GB 1TB config..
