Regarding the GPS, The camera and the GPS are separate units. You attach the GPS to the window and then the camera to the GPS unit. The power cable is plugged into to the GPS unit which in turn powers the Camera. If you want to disable the GPS, disconnect the power from GPS and connect it directly to the Camera.

Means you had a bad SD card. Dashcam alerts you when it starts recording.

Regarding the GPS, The camera and the GPS are separate units. You attach the GPS to the window and then the camera to the GPS unit. how's the viewing angle on this? also, are license plates easily legible or does the car have to be pretty close to you? i have an older Aukey cam that I've had for like 5 years, been super solid and still works, just thinking of maybe upgrading to higher resolution/image quality

this one doesn't have a battery..
yeah mine is 170 degrees which is nice because it shows more but the license plates can be read when the car is pretty close to me but not when it's a little further
