Simply put, ThinkPad is Lenovo's more or less premium lineup whereas the Thinkbooks are their (premium) mid-rangers.
Nopes, not at all. There are plenty ThinkPad series like their E series which are far less premium than higher end ThinkBook models.
The whole ThinkPad lineup is designed for Business and even their lesser models have some characteristics like MIL-STD-810 (Military Standard Certification) for Drop, shock, extreme temperature and dust resistance. Also, rather than looking super thin and light and more attractive, they normally have slightly thicker design, better Key travel etc. Unlike full metal design at high end consumer laptops, ThinkPad uses combination of Plastic, Carbon Fiber and alloy to provide more durability than just slick appearance.
ThinkBook laptops on the other hand, are targeted towards smaller enterprises. Their design is more like the equivalent consumer Laptops like IdeaPad 5/7 etc. with slicker design, metal construct but normally has the Business specific security features, better selection of ports etc.
For example, this particular design is based on Lenovo IdeaPad S540 13ARE model. Check here: https://psref.lenovo.com/Product/...S54013ARE. However, unlike the IdeaPad model, this always come with Windows 10 Pro, some security features, specific BIOS features which can be used by the IT of those small companies

Insight.com seems shady AF .. never heard of them before this post, but Suryasis posts good stuff. Took a look at the reviews I could find, and they are absolutely awful. They put up stock they don't have, they don't respond, they ask for bank transfers after you purchase refusing to take the credit card payment (this seems to be the most common thing people in reviews mentioned), they charge immediately and not when they ship, the list goes on ... I would do your due diligence if buying from them - based on the reviews, they are not a good place to buy from. Just the fact that so many people have had them ask for bank transfers only is a huge reason to stay away - zero protection there, and should NEVER be done.

This is the first time I am posting a deal from this site but I did check and they're officially listed Reseller for Lenovo for Business, similar to Colamco and Provantage. Before posting, I did check that from Lenovo Site. https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/land...e.com%252F
And regarding they're selling products out of stock, that is common to almost all of these Business Resellers because they buy the Products in bulk and not going to place an order for you instantly if they don't have that in stock and you're not placing volume order. A lot of time, while ordering personal computers, people don't check whether the Item is in stock or not and just place a Back-Order and for these kind of Business oriented Resellers, that can take ages. So, make sure you check if the model is exactly available, not a Special Order or Out of Stock item.
For this item, I have checked this to be in stock with 24 items. SO, probably you won't be having trouble. I have not brought from them but brought from similar resellers like Provantage and Colamco.

I'd encourage you to read the reviews here (tons of them recent reviews), and then see if you still think you probably won't have any trouble:
Many, many, many, many reviews state they said the items were in stock and just never ship and they don't even tell you .. Also, extremely shady to be asking for bank transfers - if you look at the reviews, many of them say the reason is because they are "upgrading their payment systems" - but they've been asking for bank transfers for months, and very recently. Also many of the reviews state very shady return practices as well (pay to call, will not refund even if bought within 30 days, many reviews state their customer service is rude and unprofessional, etc).
Based on the reviews, I'd be inclined to say you will be having trouble.

They are for enterprise. Like CDW or Provantage. My company has ordered from them before. Dont expect great CS of you are making single purchases. Their priority are for ppl ordering these in the hundreds.
Can anyone confirm that Insight delivered it promptly without issue?
I have the G2 Intel 1035g7 variant and have been wanting to upgrade (mainly for 16gb for VMs).
The form factor, build quality, QHD screen, are excellent. It's a great notebook.
For $799 the 5800u is a bargain. The only thing I could criticize is the 300nit display could be brighter for outdoor use.

This model is currently over $950 everywhere else and Amazon has it at $999 [amazon.com].
Also, what is the difference between the ThinkBook vs ThinkPad models?
