I've had these speakers for a few years with my personal and -now 100% remote- work laptop setup on my desk. They sound great!
A few things to keep in mind:
- No, they don't have Bluetooth. They have an AUX port in the volume control puck (as well as a headphone out) for connecting external sources (I have an Echo Spot connected to it)
- Yes, they've been around for a while.
- The volume control puck also powers them on/off via touch
- Volume up or down doesn't have tactile clicks (smooth rotation)
- They get loud without distortion
Enjoy!

Very true, I wouldn't pay this much for these
No, I'm not. These are the Bose 20 silver ones not the Bose 2 and I own both and honestly they both are lackluster and the 20s are stupidly overpriced

Thanks

For $100 I would get the Klipsch promedia 2.1 system, or a pair of studio speakers and a cheap $30 dac from parts Express.
I have the Klipsch, Creative T20, and those Bose and I am currently using monster studio ones and a $30 Dac and it's insanely good. Though nothing beats having a separate subwoofer but monitors with a DAC will get you close enough if you want to keep your space clean.

Agreed, I see the companion 2 on Craigslist and eBay all the time for under $50, but the companion 20 are always $150+ in exc condition. No way you'll find these under $100 unless they're broken or damaged.
That said, these companion 20's at almost $200 with tax are still way overpriced. You'd be better off waiting for the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 to go on sale for $79 at Costco.
Edit: the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 is on sale right now at Costco for $79

In the past six months I got Bose 20 companions for $50 shipped on FB Marke and the Bose 2 for $20. Tons of people sell these they are not special or worth keeping unless you want a small set that is "good enough". Also, both sets are sitting in a box in my garage ATM 😂
