Pretty good deal for a new 4010. Although the refurb version is on sale for $1239 at Walmart, which is a slightly better deal imho - considering how good Epson refurbs are

Great price, a well reviewed 1080P pixel shifter. It actually looks better than some native 4k projectors. Important things to know it does 3-D which is a big win, and it has a measured input lag of 28.4ms which is actually really good for a projector and you should be able to game pretty well on it. The only real flaw or issue for some might be the lack HDMI 2.0 , so no 4K at 60hz HDR its 4K at 24hz.

It's refurbished, still shows 2 year warranty on the product page with 90 day returns. I bought 4 year Allstate warranty for $77 as well. Let's see this works out good.

When are they going to make a 4K version of the Optoma GT1090HDR? I really want to have a 4K 120hz laser projector with 4200+ lumens. I have a feeling we are several years away.

This is a pretty good deal. I paid about 1800 usd for the Epson 3800 because I'm a scrub. One big difference between these Epson projectors is their wide range in horizontal and vertical lense shift. For my use case I could not find any reasonably priced DLP projectors (cabinet placement at back of room, not perfectly centered).

The black levels on this are better than mine and I think mine is already perfectly fine.

I bought a 4040 refurb from Epson 6 months ago, and it came like it was new with 3 years warranty. I am very happy with mine, and the 4010 supposedly is better with higher contrast. No need to buy the additional 4 years of warranty, but I guess for $77, it's worthwhile.
