I wish I had never wasted money on one of these. Plex has really gone downhill over the last few years. I bought a plex pass mostly for the live TV features, but it's been a buggy mess on Android for years now. Support is non-existent and the higher ups have made it painfully obvious that they couldn't care less. I finally gave up and switched to Emby for my local media and Channels for live TV.
Here's the page showing the difference between free and paid (pass) plex accounts:
https://support.plex.tv/articles/...e-vs-paid/

I never needed any of the paid features, so I am happy with the free. Just sharing the link for anyone curious.
I've been using Plex for about a decade now and its well worth it.

I want an OTA DVR setup with clients for Android TV and Roku and integrated program guide. Would this be the cheapest option long term?

Maybe not cheapest as you'd need to buy this, as well as something like an HDHomeRun. I know this will end up being a Plex thread, but I've always been a fan of Tablo and have used it for years with no real issues on Rokus throughout the house.

Anyone able to see if the Brazil workaround is still active? It shows as BRL375, and that comes out to $67.

Great price on the best option to manage your media library.

Support for LiveTV via my HDHomeRun is there but doesn't always work.

I've tried to do a reverse proxy over 443 with nginx on Plex with no pass. The mobile apps refuse to connect to it. But it works fine in a web browser. The mobile Android app also crashes everytime you try to enter manual connection details. I may give emby and jellyfin a try before I buy into this.

Unless you have a lot of free time I'd skip Jellyfin - that's a just a journey of pain and disappointment that will end up back where you started.

This is what I did. Works like a charm tbh.
