9Ah Ryobi ONE+ Lithium+ battery. This is Ryobi's largest 18 volt battery. I have never seen this battery so cheap. Home Depot is out of stock, but lists this battery at $160. Amazon has it listed at $200.
I was able to buy a 4-pack of 9ah Ryobi batteries for $240 a few years ago here, but I haven't seen those prices since. With that said, I don't like buying refurbished battery products, I'd much rather hope for another price drop on new. Not sure if anyone that has any experience with Ryobi refurbished batteries can chime in? Good find nevertheless.

I checked my HD account and I purchased the 4 pack of 9ah batteries for $259 before tax on 12-20-2018. Oh, the bargains to be had back then. Inflation? Short supply/high demand?

I don't have any concrete information to confirm but evidence would suggest they stopped production on these as they've been OOS in-store and online at HD for a while now. If anyone out there has a serial number greater than CS1925xxx on one of these I'd be very interested to know about it.

I'm also not a huge fan of the idea of refurb batteries but for whatever it's worth I've purchased several of them through DTO in the last several years both individually and as part of kits and haven't had any problems at all with them.
I do think they check and maybe even replace all of the cells during the refurb process and if you have a local store DTO is pretty good about exchanging refurb products that don't meet your performance expectations.
Anyway, this is probably the only way for anyone to get these batteries right now (and maybe for good, who knows!). If these are still in stock when the holiday discounts come around I'm going to have trouble keeping that money in my wallet.
Honestly I dont think my 9ah batteries are holding up as well as my other 2/3/4ah Ryobi batteries. Maybe YMMV but their is probably a reason these are not being stocked or promoted (maybe even discontinued?) at HD

I've read that Ryobi switched from Japanese cell manufacturers to Chinese cell manufacturers. The 18650 cells in their 18v and 40v batteries are no longer made by LG, Samsung, and Sony. The cells are now made by EVE or TenPower, and these manufacturers do not currently make the 3Ah cells required to assemble 9Ah 18v batteries. See the REDDIT post here[reddit.com].

Thanks. That's too bad. Those amazing old deals also had the Japanese cells (I believe). It was cheaper to buy some of those cells in Ryobi batteries than wholesale.
Have you done any discharge testing on the new batteries? Any idea if they changed the cells in the existing batteries (e.g. P197 linked below) as well?

No, I haven't done testing on any of the newer batteries but I'm really curious how they compare. Funny, I hadn't noticed before that HD places an MSDS sheet at the end of their SDS reports for these products. I wouldn't necessarily trust the HD website to upload the most up-to-date SDS/MSDS sheets as products change -- a higher priority is likely to be given to adding new products, rotating sales, etc.
I presume that at this point ALL new Ryobi batteries contain Chinese cells, including the P197. But that's not necessarily bad. Whenever I do pick up some newer batteries (18v or 40v) you can be certain that I'll test each several times and post the results.

Was the 4-for-$240 price for High Performance batteries? The image & DTO description specify it's HP. Also these are factory blemished, not refurbished. Factory Blemished from DTO is brand new with a full warranty.
Serious question, wouldn't the HD $99 for 2 4ah batteries with free tool (I normally see once or twice a year) a better deal? Or does the 9ah battery is like the Ridgid Octane battery?
I've had very poor experiences with the refurbished Ryobi batteries from direct tools. They just haven't lasted for me. In about a year, they just stop taking a charge

Thanks! Good to know. The title of the post says reconditioned but the listing is for blemished. Fix title op!

You lucky dog.
Even better—if you want to dig into the SD archives—these were $35 each about 2 years back. I stocked up then. Thinking will never see that again!
I sold all my tool when i was moving in 2019. Now I am searching for battery deal everyday.
