This is a fun unique game for older kids and adults... scoring is completed after game ends similar to how scoring does on Ticket To Ride.
Good game. Good price for this.

BGG link, w/ score of 7.1 which is fairly good:

One way to drag my Minecraft addicted kid away from the computer for an hour. Smilie

One of the most boring games you'll ever play. The only engaging part is building the cube. My kids played it twice and then never again.

There are much better games, with better gameplay, and easier scoring. This should never have been released. It tarnishes the brand.

I have a 5 and 8 year old. Both into Minecraft. Im assuming it would be too much for the 5 year old but ok for my 8 year old? I see it shows 10+

I would definitely wait on this purchase until they're both over 10 and even then you can probably find better games for the money. You're buying the brand here and not really anything analogous to the video game.

We have a 5 and 12 year old. Our 5 year old plays it fine. We are a Catan, 7 Wonders, etc sort of family, this game is in our normal rotation. It's great at introducing more complex strategies and thinking ahead, while not taking too long. There are multiple ways to get points. My youngest loves to go around and kill mobs. The rest of us are more cutthroat in maximizing points. It's a good teaching example of how to sacrifice one round (3 total rounds) point potential to maximize a different scoring round.

So my 6 year old plays it no problem. He needs help with strategy but he has fun. And he has won a couple times too. So, I don't think it's a bad buy at all. He plays with the rest of the family on game night. I say go for it at this price.

Thanks! This is really helpful. Was leaning towards no after the initial response but now back towards yes. We play Catan Junior with my 5 year old but haven't tried the normal Catan with him yet.

My son got the hang of it quickly as a 6-year-old. If he is motivated to learn and has a bit of patience he could do it.
