I don't know about a comparison, but I have used Norelco's for about 50 years now and have never had a complaint on any of them. I usually have them about 10 years before I decide I might get a new one. But the old ones keep running and I have a spare or two that I might take on a trip. Never had one actually die, the batteries keep charging for a lot longer than one might expect. And no degradation of power that I have seen. Maybe I've been fortunate. And mostly they have the same cord which is nice too. I tried a Remington once...not even close.
How is this compared to "Philips Norelco Shaver 2300" ?
13-14 yrs ago in one Christmas day, they gifted me a Norelco shaver like this (older fat version). I have moved to many places, lost its charger and bought a cheap Chinese charger replacement and the charger's wire is now starts flaking but the shaver is still working fine. It still holds battery for weeks, still sharp to close shave. no rust, no stains etc that makes the material degrade. I have no idea what's wrong with mine but it refuse to break.

I'd definitely buy another Norelco if mine breaks someday... they're like the Nokia phones of electric shavers.

Been on the fence on picking up a new one for years and pulled the trigger on a lark. Figured if its nothing special I can return it easily enough. Repped.

Yes I read them too. Either you love it or hate it for failing blades.

reviews I just read stink. Not sure where the 4.1 rating came from. I have a heavy beard and over the years have bought higher end razors than this and still ended up back with Gillette. Not getting suckered again

While this seems like a good deal, there are a few things to consider. I have gone through 3 of these, the first one I got was dead on arrival. Second one, battery life only let me get through half of my shave, I'd have to leave it plugged in to finish. The third one I got functioned, but the battery life still isn't good, I think I can get in 2-3 shaves before it dies.

Bought this last year, pulled the entire head off and stick on my older more expensive model whose genuine parts are discontinued. Happy so far!

Just used mine. Best shaver I've ever had so far.
