Thanks OP. Ignore the critics who assume newer = better. I was looking for a 3D gaming rig. Unfortunately Nvidia removed 3D driver support in the latest 30x0 series GPUs. The newest (fastest) GPUs you can get which still support it (using older drivers) are the 20x0 series. And since desktop 2080 GPUs are still priced over $1000, a laptop with a 2080 seems the way to go.

I agree. I bought this configuration. Just hope thermal isn't bad.
