230'? bluetooth? yeah right. this will likely work 20' away if you dont have anything between you and what is cooking. much better off getting a wifi one, or a radio signal based one. both will certainly be more expensive than this, but honestly, the royal pita that bluetooth will be, id rather just get one that isnt wireless. this doesnt even have a temp readout on the unit, so every time you walk beyond bluetooth range, and come back in range, you are likely going to have to turn bluetooth off and on, turn the device off and on... just to look at the temp.

only way id use a bluetooth one is to connect it to a tablet or something that didnt leave the range of the device.

yah, there's clearly a wire. I'm sure there's even more wires inside that black box. And I have to use my phone? I know there's wires in there.

I purchased their digital wireless hygrometer rated at 230ft range and it works great. I placed one at piano room downstair and kid room upstair and they both stay connected with my iphone bluetooth. I'm a bit surprise since certainly there is wall and door in between. the temperature and humidity reading appear to be accurate and consistent. I like the interactive graph chart that shows temperature movement. I just order this meat thermometer based on the positive experience.

This thermometer is probably junk, But this is the exact TYPE of thermometer noobie cooks should to cook chicken or roasts in the oven, to name two.

Eliminates multiple trips to oven to check temp with regular thermometer.
Eliminates constantly opening oven which results in sad food.

Agreed don't waste your money.
I bought Meater Plus and it is rad.
I think it"s well worth the money for a chronic over/under cooker

Cheaper to buy this than a new probe for my thermopro. Anyone know if the probe is the standard small size.

I would hold out for something with a digital temp reading on the device itself +\- Bluetooth. I don't have experience with this specific device, but the ones I have used, the Bluetooth can be a little buggy and I often find myself just monitoring the temp reading on the device rather than my phone. YMMV on preferences.

This is a great price if you are ok with Bluetooth only.

The meater Looks cool, but the reviews are so bad. A lot of them complaining about range but a lot about durability too. Big cost for something disposable. What's your experience?
