I think this is a good chip, and quite a step forward for intel. The power is definitely there.
However, so is TDP. 125w is pretty darn high and I know it goes higher under turbo. Does anyone have this, and can talk about how it performs in games?
I acknowledge that my 5900x is slower, but it also sits pretty at 40c in intensive gaming. That means my computer hums quietly along. it also means that doing a pull-only configuration is highly effective for my AIO 280mm.

Intel basically stomps Zen 3 in efficiency for gaming and general use with 12th gen
Its only the 12900k at 100% workstation loads that it runs hot/eats power, but everywhere else its cooler/uses less power. If you lower the PL2 for workstation use you can make it around as efficient as the 5950x, but with slightly less performance.

They have ddr4 boards. Also Microcenter gives you a free 1700 bracket if you buy a Lian Li Galahad AIO.

Wait till next year when Zen 3D comes out.
That and maybe all the bugs alder lake has will be fixed by then.
