The fact that you say that says enough about you and your knowledge of these products which is zero.
I have tried special audio, it seems great. These probably out perform the Bose in music and moves by a lot. But I'm not an audiophile or anything like that. I mainly use these for work. If I had more time to test and use these I'd feel I could comment on that better. I have had mine since launch, and paid full price. They have been worth the cost to me for what I use them for. I use them 5 days a week 5-10 hours a day for work depending on the day - I get my moneys worth.
The weakness of the product is the case, and how they sleep. It's really dumb.
The noise cancellation works reasonably well but I think the Bose is probably better. The Bose are also adjustable in noise canceling levels where they'd have only 3 modes.
One other area the Bose wins is the cancellation of background audio from the microphone. Like in a coffee shop they can cancel the background notices better when on a call.
I do not find the weight to be an issue, even after hours on the phone. I think in some ways it's a benefit, they stay in place perfectly. The wider headband vs the Bose set I have is more comfortable for me.
I'm actually considering getting another set for the audio sharing feature for plane rides with my wife. Which works really well when sharing these with my normal in ear air pods pro.
I do prefer the Bose in two major areas I already touched on. First is the the case, how the fold, and putting them in a bag. Second is the cup material on the nose is very comfortable and more durable. I understand you can buy replacement cups for these but they do get dirty, easy.
Last note. I have the silver. I would not recommend the lighter colors. The headband and ear cups gets dirty and is hard to clean. Another reason I want another set. I want the black to use daily as the silver gets dirty even from just handling them.

Need to try these, but will hold off for no tax mil' exchanges.
Anyone have these and the Sony WH-1000XM4 to compare?
Thanks
I'd grab a set if I could afford it right now.

I have these, the Bose QC35s, and two sets of air pods. I work on the phone all day. So each set has different advantages and differences. We are in the apple ecosystem for work so the main advantage of these is connecting to the computer and phone and the handoffs. I don't actually even use these for movies or music, just work and calls. The batter life on these is phenomenal.

I'm personally in the ecosystem through HomeKit so I'll be paying for these.
