Ive been eyeing this for MONTHS. At 69.99 its a no brainer. Thanks!
What's the deal with backbone+? I only heard about it until after I ordered. Do you k ow if it's required if all you want to do is play pc/Xbox on it?
Yes, it's more specific to streaming your game play over Twitch, the quality of said stream and adds support for some additional, non-iPhone devices. You get one year free but if it's not required for general gameplay, I imagine you just use it as you normally would. You'll still need separate subscriptions to Game Pass, Apple Arcade, etc.

Yep, have game pass. No interest in much else. Their sore made it very confusing on if you have to pay to play or for the added features. Thanks!

Game Pass is the only thing I'm eyeing. Actually thinking about giving up my desire for a next generation console to just have Game Pass (and Horizon Forbidden West on PS4).

I've been using it on the Backbone with xCloud, and xCloud is not great. I'm on 300/300 fiber with a Wifi 6 router and Wifi 6 phone. I get a lot of input lag and frame drops. Framerates will dip down to single digits at times. I have a free trial for Stadia and it's so much better with the same setup. Some games are better optimized on xCloud, but I tried Dirt 5 on both for a fair comparison. xCloud is definitely still beta.
Streaming from an Xbox Series X to mobile (via Xbox mobile app rather than xCloud) is flawless, even better than Stadia, but you said you were thinking of skipping next-gen consoles. I wouldn't right now if using xCloud. You can also use xCloud from the consoles themselves now, and that's definitely better. Basically just saves storage and lets you start games right away. If it's available on Xbox One (ie last Gen), I'd give that a shot.
Maybe it works better on Android with the native app, but given Stadia worked well and Remote Play from Series X did too, I'm thinking it's xCloud's (MS/Azure) laggy infrastructure compared to Stadia's (Google). I've also tried Luna and it's almost as good as Stadia and way better than xCloud. Problem is only xCloud has good games for "free" (ie within Game Pass).
