Offer good for new memberships only.
† Offers good for new memberships only. Users who have previously purchased a Quicken subscription will be charged full price.
* Existing subscribers will get pro-rated time added to their subscription.
OP update title to state NEW memberships only
so far only retail version has worked for renew IMHO

I didn't check out, but when I clicked on "Buy Now," there's a note in the shopping cart:
"Existing subscribers will get pro-rated time added to their subscription."
This seems to contradict the fine print on the offer page that states, "Offer good for new memberships only."
Edited to add: On the shopping cart page, there is additional fine print:
"Offers good for new memberships only. Users who have previously purchased a Quicken subscription will be charged full price."
So, for existing members, the cart will show the $25.99 price, but you'll be charged $51.99.

so, new quicken account is another email, isn't it?
does quicken data file or backup tight to quicken account? does it have any info about the account?
just asking, as there is no way for refund IMHO

Never thought of this. Always been frustrated by their new sub only. Will be doing this for my renewal in Feb.
Any idea how long you can wait after purchasing from staples/big box before you have to activate?
I think the bundle with Quicken is only if you buy Turbotax from Amazon
