I'm continuously shocked at the lack of higher-than-gigabit throughout options on some of these higher end Synologies.
Like, it only takes 2 healthy drives to saturate gigabit. 6 would easily saturate 5 gigabit. Why not give us that network option?
The majority of users don't have 10GBe infrastructure in place, there is no point for the manufacturer to increase the cost for the feature at this point needed for 1-5% of the buyers, it's easier to have an expansion option, like an optional PCIe slot, on eBay the 10GBe adapters can be found as low as $50. And as @flofloryda mentioned - the issue is to find a properly working inexpensive 10GBe switch.

P.S. great find OP!
Agreed, it's right on the tipping point for lower end enterprise needs.
Is this an upgrade from a 918+ I mainly use for plex but I do a lot of offsight movie watching so I need good transcoding.
The 918+ have hardware transcoding, these do not. If that matters to you, then an upgrade would be to the 920+/1520+ depending on how many drive bays you want/need.

It does have 4 ports, so 4 gigs if you set it up as a bond given the right switches.
I think faster Ethernet ports are still not normal enough to be cost effective for soho.
