As good as an espresso machine can be. Should descale the boiler and clean the shower screen occasionally. Because these have a stainless boiler & manual steam valve instead of a thermocoil & solenoid, it would take years instead of months for scale build up to become a functional issue.
The entry level De'Longhi espresso machines (Stilosa, ECP3120, EC155) are by far the best machines around $100. They can make real espresso with a non-pressurized basket[appliancefactoryparts.com]. They won't heat up instantly or automatically dispense a specific volume, but having conventional, reliable internal components is far better IMO.
Edit: This doesn't seem like an incredible deal, though. The Stilosa is the same aside from minor aesthetic differences and is regularly $100, was $87 recently.
