Great entry level grinder with 40 grind settings that will do everything from drip to espresso. Has conical steel burrs, not the cheaper blade or disk grinders. You can also buy the M2 burr set for it for $35, which are the same ones in the more expensive Virtuoso model. Seems like a great deal if you like blue bottle coffee and need a grinder. It's to be noted that they were purchased by nestle a while back, and since then it's been reported that prices have increased while quality has gone down. YMMV, I don't personally use the service.

What is R*?
Normal value
$569 / 22 shipments (12oz) = $25 / 12 oz <- that's way more expensive than buying individually
Discount Value + Promotion
$399 / 22 shipments (12oz) = $18 / 12 oz <- average price
plus $170 Baratza / 22 = $7 /12 oz value
final price is $11 / 12 oz = ($18 - $7)
So without the free grinder their coffee subscriptions seem like a poor deal.

You're also valuing the grinder at full retail. There's a deal where you can get it for $112 you can find on SD now.

Almost pulled the trigger anyway, but between that and the Nestle comment, I'm out. Guess I'll just wait for the next $99 refurb...
This price seems normal price with the convenience of free shipping and a bonus grinder. I think the deal's value is in the grinder.
Even with the Nestle deal blue bottle is still one of my top roasters. Rest assured Blue Bottle will taste nothing like nespresso or Nescafé.
