Best Buy has the 500GB model of the WD BLACK SN850 on sale for BF. Shipping shows unavailable at the time of posting, but you can select ship to store or in-store pickup (stock permitting).
The 1TB on BB is $149.99 - but there is some glitch it seems as there are two SN850 1TB in the drop down - one is $159.99 and the other is $149.99 - different part numbers but one is an outdated one.
The $149.99 is the current one from what i can tell.
honestly you don't need one - i mainly use to store pics and run plex.
maybe some apps can use it - but i don't se a need
definitely don't spend more than $30-$50 over a nvme drive for that need.
I'm talking about the Synology NAS that has two additional NVMe slots for cacheing from the slower NAS drives that are the main storage. I'm assuming the larger the cache drives, the more it can cache of say my raw images folder. But I'm not clear on how that works.

come on man.
even the SN750 SE has hardware encryption.
it's been so many years, and WD's in-house controller still doesn't have hardware encrypt
