If can handle a 17"
The Max-P 3070 Omen 17 QHD is 1350...
This Omen 16 is not quite a Max-P 3070 and keep in mind is not 16:10, it's actually a larger 16.1" laptop sadly
You're right and that deal is posted by me as well. If you are looking for performance per dollar and don't care about anything else, yes, Omen 17t with RTX 3070 is a better option.
However, this laptop, even being a 16.1" laptop, is significantly lighter, even compared to 15.6" 16:9 laptops like Legion 5, Acer Helios 300 series. Also, the build quality is pretty good. And regarding performance, it is 115W + 15W vs 125W + 15W in Open 17, just 10W extra.
Notebookcheck has reviewed the Intel version and found out it actually maintain very stable 115W-120W power continuously during combined CPU and GPU load and the RTX 3070 performance is top of their chart, beetling laptops like Alienware M15 R5 and R6, and similar to a 140W RTX 3070 in Legion 5 pro.
These hp laptop deals are prettt nice - I'm sort of torn if I should return the microcenter vector pro 3080 for 2k
That's a pretty sweet laptop and despite being thinner and lighter by a lot than these laptops, it still packs the highest TGP GPU. Bur if you're after max performance per dollar then these are good choice.
Just ordered one with only 8 Gig of RAM, since I just took 16 Gig out of an AMD 4800 laptop. Price was $1,412.99 for AMD 5800 and nVidia 3070. Legion 5 Pro with Intel i7 and only a 3050 going back to Costco ($1,099 on sale). Lets hope the Dec. 9, shipping date is accurate.
This is a good find but unfortunately HP parts in these machines are low grade. The wifi, the hard drives, SD card slot, USB all run slower than all of the competitors.
(My biggest issue: The power button is NEXT TO THE DELETE Key)
I just imagine accidentally shutting off your computer all the time.

I can relate to this. My latitude 7420 keyboard layout is the same.
The reality for me was that i only hit the power button twice in the first week of owning it. Now i don't even think about it. Adapting to it was much easier than i expected.
Also, it puts the computer to sleep. it does not shut it down. what i thought would be a deal breaker turned out to be a minor inconvenience that didn't even affect me after the first week.
