Only if playing games is your business. Otherwise the mouse will call you a noob and not function correctly.

The logi bolt transceiver. Regular has unifying transceiver. Supposedly the bolt is more secure and resists interference in crowded spectrums better.
I'd say take that with a grain of salt for now until it's proven to not only be effective but also that it doesn't have an unforeseen trade off. If you're using this at home it probably doesn't matter which version you get.

This one is different than the regular staples deal for $75-80 because they upgraded the wireless connection and dongle to logibolt. more security but otherwise mouse functionally should be the same. It is not backwards compatible to unifying receiver but would work with the new mx keys mini that doesn't come with a logibolt receiver for example. It also still works with a Bluetooth only connection.

logitech bolt and all business mice/keyboards have not been supported by logitech "options +", which is the beta upgraded app of logitech options. "options +" works fine with macos monetrey, at least in my hand.
logitech options has been very problematic with macos 12 monterey, especially on gesture control part.
pls think 2x to go for any logitech business mouse/keyboard.
you can not use business mice/keyboards with "options +", either with bolt dango or bluetooth. business mouse/keyboard are not compatible with unifying dango.
overall very messy situation caused by logitech itself.

This is right on point. The regular "options" does not work properly on my MacBook and only the beta version "+" works.
If you have a recent mac running Monterey, you will not be happy with the "business" versions. Stick with the regular ones and run the beta version of options +. all gestures and customizations will work well.
Here is the link to join the beta and get the options + for mac: https://www.logitech.co

Can I use this with MacBook air without connecting the dongle?

Not 100% sure about windows 11. But IMHO options+ works as well better under windows. Unless you're in a very crowded working environment with dozens of Logitech unifying dango's interference. There's no point to go for business series at all.
I still have a anywhere mx 3 business sitting in my drawer because it's not working options+.
Logitech really sucks on the software part, still remember when they were moving from setpoint to options and dumping all first generation Mx and mx anywhere mice. WTF.
Yes. It works over Bluetooth.
