Probably the best action. The stand that makes it like korg is extra. It come with a single pedal that's great quality. 3 pedal insert for for stand extra ($200?).
Probably end up being $1000 to have same look and setup (same type of stand and peddles)
People really like the key action. Keys do not fatigue hand. The only plausable critisism of the key action is beginners need to build strenght in hands, so argue strength > feel.

Roland FP-10 ($475 or so)
Great action, same technoogy Roland uses on more expensive e-piano til about $1500-2000 range. That' big. Keys require a bit more bounce force like a piano. It comes with one crappy pedal. No stand.
Costco had the fp-10 in a bundle with stand, and piano seat for $550 a month ago. Still comes with one crappy pedal. Only USB midi, plus bluetooth midi. Can by a better pedal, or an insert to stand with 3 pedals like korg above. I think they overcharge for it though. expect it to cost $50 more than others.

All of these e pianos are great for $500-$1000 range. We have it so easy now adays with piano like weighted keys and so many software features for such low price points.

I cheaped out and got the costco deal. I wanted the kawaii, but $550 for the roland and costco return policy lured me. I'm too busy to set it up till a few more weeks, but played it in store. nice. I hate the usb only midi part, but it is probably ok. I'll find out.

I don't know anything about the korg, except I ordered it a year ago and the delivery guy absolutey destoyed it. Asked me if I still wanted it. I said are you kidding? it went back and they were out of stock.
haha.
Hm. It has a max of 120 polyphony. But if I'm reading the manual right, the polyphony is only 40 for its classic and grand piano sounds since they both use three samples. Considering the age of this model and lack of connections and features, this is a lukewarm deal at best.

But for folks looking for an affordable model with Korg's RH3 keybed, this is worth considering given prices and inventory lately.
It depends on what you're gonna use it for. If you just want to play an instrument that looks, feels, and sounds good; then consider this model.

If you want Bluetooth, are overlaying a lot of sounds and want to avoid cutoff, want recording, would use a lot of effects or teaching features; then I'd avoid this since you'd be saving money if you needed to buy another piano in the future.

The touch of this piano is not bad but not great according to many folks. Definitely better than more budget models. It's all about preference though.

Have one of these for our daughter and it's been phenomenal for a beginner. It has weighted keys, sounds great and even functions as a nice bluetooth speaker. This is roughly what we paid locally for it and I don't regret it at all.

I'm a classically trained pianist but am new to digital pianos. But this is def8nitely an older model. From my research over the past few days, this is lacking a lot of features from more recent models which may or may not be important to you.

What extra features do you think are worth getting?

The touch of this is better than the B2. But that's what I care most about. B2 is certainly cheaper.

It's black friday, so my stategy would be to find a comparabile Kawaii on a black friday deal that gets you, say $200 off.

Like this one ($899, free shipping):
https://www.sweetwater.com/store/...ssed-black

It also comes in black. I have to leave home now so I can't look in to it. Google and make sure it's really $200 off, and read about the key action, and look at reviews on youtube.

Got to go. Might even get a blackfriday deal on one and take one I got back to costco. (it's not opened)

The pros that check out lower cost keyboards seem to go nuts over kawais.

edit: looks like it's that same price lots of places. Probably still a great pick and better choice than korg (which is older but still plays well I imagine).

Go to all the music sites like musicians friend, guitar center, sweet water, and the rest and look for one with a black friday price tag. Might be one just waiting for you.

Good machine.

Don't put too much stock in the "made in japan" aspect, they make the parts in south asia or China, ship to japan, assemble, cook the books, "made in japan" This is the same as those rice cookers.

If you guys plan to use pianoteq, might want to get the fp30x instead because it is a better midi controller with features that just meshes well with pianoteq, For most other vsts, pianos will work identically with minor input curve adjustment.

Hook it up to a powerful vst, and get as many polyphony as your computer can handle. nod
