I was doing some research on a better antenna and found the Antennas Direct ClearStream MAX-V at Lowes on clearance for $43.77. You may find it a different price at your local Lowes, brickseek was accurate this time and it updated from "in stock, qty 2" to "limited stock" after I bought mine. Model #C2MVB

Lowes link for reference (unable to purchase online):

Alternatively, you can purchase from antennas direct for $48.99 after SHOPEARLY 30% off coupon (exp. 11/30)

Also keep in mind you will need to spend $1.00 more to get free shipping. This would make a nice filler:

I went the Lowes route for ease of return if needed.

It improved drastically to 68 channels when I mounted it outside on the mast coming out of the roof of my garage (probably 15 feet above the ground). I'll rescan after I get my new coaxial cables and get everything installed permanently.
I just have the flat paper-like antennas on my TVs upstairs (mounted inside) and they pick up about 25 channels which is good enough for those TVs.
yes it works well. I had one of the flat indoor ones that received majority of the channels but were missing a few main ones. The flat one was placed in a window with cord showing about 3 ft. The new one from lowes is tad bigger but I mounted it behind the tv and its hidden. I now receive the missing main channels plus few extra. Note my walls are brick/ cinder block and plaster on the 1st floor. The signal strength isnt 100% ; eventually I should do a hole house set up from the attic or outdoors.

Broadcast TV Fee $19.75
Regional Sports Fee $17.30
What joke. Have no other choice for Internet besides staying with them otherwise I would have switched.
Found 2 of them on the shelf at Lowes for $19.57.
Got one setup at the house with a HDHomeRun and ChannelsDVR found 87 Channels inside.
Going to bring the 2nd one to my grandmothers house for her to use.

You won't regret it. If you don't care about cable news, you can pretty much find your way to anything else (even those usually have plenty of clips on YouTube). Only workaround a needed was vpn to get around local sports blackouts and for the Sunday ticket. And the later is almost definitely leaving directv after next season, so it wouldn't be an issue then
I am going to add a second antenna so I can hopefully grab channels from both Baltimore and DC
Search YouTube for "Clearstream tear down". The actual uhf antenna is a thin metallic sheet. Cheap as hell. The GEs they also have on clearance (pro yagi and the one with a curved reflector) are better.
1) Is that still a decent antenna for DTV? Any reason I should upgrade it before I do that?
2) Should I use an amplifier or just let it go Coax direct to TV? Any recommendations if so? I have one of those little ones that come with the thin wall-pad style antennas. Is that good enough to help?
