Cyber Monday deal. Seems like a very solid price and pretty decent reviews too.

FWIW, I have used a similar "shock absorbing" ice chopper and a standard ice chopper that "hurts your hand" and you have to work a lot harder with the spring-loaded kind. By absorbing the kinetic energy you apply to the handle, less of it reaches the ice.

I've been clearing sidewalks and driveways in Minnesota and Wisconsin my whole life. If you can't keep the ice from forming (pre-apply salt, clear snow as it falls, etc.), the best removal method involves cutter mattock to break the thick stuff, a chopper for the thin stuff, and a shovel to clear it off the surface.

Life is pain.

I don't know…my ice chopper technique was very little chopping and more getting under the ice and scraping it up, much like you'd use a chisel on wood. Cement and asphalt don't like get hammered with hardened steel.

Isn't it the sharp impact that breaks the ice???

Fakespot is garbage. This shovel is probably fine.

Not sure if I have this brand but my dad gave me one and I thought it was stupid until I tried it. So glad I have one.

I have one of these. Works great for scraping the compacted snow that the car tires create. It turns into ice after a few weeks if you don't scrape it up.

I usually chop ice with a regular shovel, but I've broken 3 shovels in the past 5 years or so with that method. I picked one of these up, but it doesn't look like any snow is coming for awhile here in the plains of CO. Well, I guess I'll be ready when it does...

This can also be used when your parked car get stuck in ice.
