Lately you've been able to get much closer to $1/lb again. I would hold out for a better deal. Since people will ask for proof, check Dicks Sporting Goods

You're comparing the wrong weights. Check those ethos plates. They're no where near $1/lb. Find me machined (not cast) urethane coated plates for the same price or less. Urethane is commercial gym quality.
