Congratulations if you were even able to get tickets last night. It took me two hours of waiting and errors to get tickets for a Saturday afternoon showing. (I like good seats and prefer the Dolby Digital screens so its worth it)

As they are currently marketed it's just nonsense with as much import as any random junk cryptocoin or penny stock. Companies are just hawking NFT because it's become a marketing buzzword that costs them nothing but they can turn around and make month with.

NFT can't yet be defined in a couple of sentences by the casual observer due to the lack of popular understanding of blockchain.

However, some may say both, the Monalisa and your child's coloring art are, NFTs. U can't have more than one or reproduce it later in time.

Your email account is not an NFTs (Even though is an URL). U can have more than one and/or reproduce it later in time.

Any of the 3 can be worth millions to you but they can also be worthless to the rest of us.

Blockchain just allows for an easier (Partial) ownership transfer of the NFT Item. just like HTTP allows for an easier transfer of ownership of the gmail account.

NFTs are only as dumb as their use case. Saying you own a digital poster, kinda dumb. Using it as a digital receipt for a video game that can be transferred later during a sale (thus legitimizing reselling digital only games), would be pretty smart.
