From what I've seen no it's a bad model, which is why they've moved to new model numbers.

I own this model, had a problem of wanting it to leap down the stairs, called CS and they sent me the 2nd generation one for free. I've had 2 of these running for about a year now daily with no problems except for the occasional getting stuck and chirping for help. The self emptying bin is great and won't purchase another robot vacuum without it. The camera system takes a while to map out the house and bumps harder into things than I would like but has never marked up any trims or table legs as of yet.

Thanks for sharing, I also had a case of my Shark attempting to leap down the stairs, perhaps I have the gen 1. The machine isn't as smart as I hoped, but the price was right so no complaints here...

What do you mean by 2nd gen? The AI labeled one?

AV1002AE is the 2nd gen, they added an addition floor sensor to help with mapping. I've never noticed a difference but besides that both function identically.
