Nice, a permanent license of Capture One is totally worth it if you're worried about being locked into Adobe's subscription model. It works better than Lightroom in many areas such as a better color editing tool, having layers, and the incredible style brushes ability they added recently. But it is worse in other areas such as speed and stability. It is also lacking features such as camera EXIF time offset, AI photo editing, and panorama stitching.
Personally I prefer using Capture One + Affinity Photo over Lightroom + Photoshop. None of that icky feeling of being shackled to Adobe.
I'm seeing some articles saying that if you purchase Now, you will receive an update automatically for free to version 22. You might want to look that up and verify.
Update: Looks like the free V22 upgrades got pulled. See post below for screenshots of the original offers.
Take note that the B&H page says free upgrade to Capture One Pro v22. (Take screen shots and keep this if you purchase as there has been ambiguity from Capture One on whether current v21 purchases will get the free upgrade to v22 when released in December.)
New v21 license for the manufacturer specific versions (Sony / Nikon / Fuji) are on sale for $139 and also show to include the free upgrade to v22. Personally I'm waiting for an upgrade license for the Sony version for around $79 to $99... C1 won't get an upgrade out of me this year with these current offerings.
Also the C1 BF/CM deals offered direct are crap... only sales on subscriptions and styles.
Take note that the B&H page says free upgrade to Capture One Pro v22.
Where do you see that? I've looked several times and can't find anything showing upgrade to v22. Adorama does clearly show upgrade included but the price is a little higher.

I got the Sony only version for $100 last year. I would wait for some Christmas deals.
I'm still on v11.1 mainly used for tethering. If anyone made a similar jump could please chime in. Unfortunately I'm also locked into adobe CC due to AE and PP

I don't see the free upgrade to Capture One Pro v22 on the site. What am I missing?

We'll, looks like they changed the terms...
Last night Capture One Pro 21 for All Cameras was $199 + $25 GC and had the "Buy Capture One today and get a free upgrade to V22, coming later this year!" caption.
Updates:
A new license for the Sony/Nikon/Fuji specific versions were listed @ $139 no GC, but also advertised a free upgrade to v22.
Looks like the free upgrades got pulled.
CaptureOne has been slowly trying to entice (force) people to move to their subscription model by slowing raising the prices of the perpetual versions while offering fewer sales/specials. I guess they have Adobe subscription envy but aren't offering the adobe value proposition. Adobe LR + PS + LR mobile sub is only $10 / mth and includes some cloud storage. C1 sub is $24/mth or $12/mth if buying a year subscription... but this offering isn't as full featured as LR + PS + LR mobile + cloud storage.
See attachments for the screenshots.

I have capture one pro 21. Will they continue add profiles for new lenses and cameras or will they stop when capture one pro 22 comes out?
I believe they stop adding new camera and lens profiles when the new version comes out... unless you are on a subscription, which includes the new version.
Note - There *may* be some exceptions where a new camera might be supported one version back. Particularly if the camera is announced (not necessarily shipped) around the same time as a new release of C1. But there are many examples where the latest C1 version is required for new camera support.

Does this include a free upgrade to Capture One Pro 22 when it is released in December?1 ANSWERAsked by Robert on Oct 13, 2021

What I received from Capture One: Helen (Capture One) Oct 15, 2021, 17:09 GMT+2 Hi there, The offer in question was valid from Sep 21, 2021 2pm CET until Oct 4, 2021 4pm CET. As you're going to buy the software far after these dates, a free upgrade to Capture One 22 will not be included should you purchase in the official store. Since you're going to make a purchase from the reseller, they can have their own terms and conditions. Note: You can always learn about any new offers as well as new features coming to Capture One from our newsletters. Feel free to sign up here and keep an eye out. Kind regards, Helen - Capture One Support

That's wack. Might as well call it a subscription then if I cant even get updates for new lenses and cameras.

Looks like both B&H and Adorama are changing the pricing and terms...
Now I see the All Camera version at Adorama for $179 + $25 GC + free upgrade to v22 when it comes out. (I wouldn't be surprised if the free version upgrade is a mistake or gets pulled, but hopefully not.)
