Went into my local GameStop to use the discounted $100 GameStop gc I got at family dollar yesterday and the $100 steam gift card rang up as $90. So you can get a $100 steam card for $76.50 if you stop by family dollar first, buy a $90 gift card at 15% off, then redeem it at GameStop for a $100 steam card.

Receipt says promo 27758 if it matters. Not sure if it works on any other denominations other than the $100 steam card.

You can't buy a GS gc with a GS gc, but you can buy Steam, Nintendo, etc. See my receipt, I paid via gc.

Yeah, I think you mean the Dollar General deal on GameStop giftcards don't you? But if this works with a discounted card at GameStop, this is HOT. I knew I could buy the GameStop discounted card at DG through this week, but I didn't know about any Steam card sale at discount.

The actual promo is "Spend $100 save $10". Online it says it explicitly excludes gift cards, but maybe some of them are glitched and working? Either that or you got lucky and had a cashier who didn't know the exclusions.

Definitely this. I didn't know what the "family dollar gift card deal" was and searching for it found nothing. Nice to find the correct information since it's half the title of this deal. The real deal is $10 off $100 or $20 off $200 (which is redundant) and it may or may not work buying Steam gift cards.

You know what, this is what the guy in GameStop told me last night before I saw this thread so I didn't put two and two together. He specifically mentioned being able to buy gaming gift cards with the $10 off $100 or the $20 off $200 deal. I need to figure out how long that sale is. And find a store that isn't following possible exclusions.

As of 1:50pm central the $10 and $20 discount off of $100 and $200 purchases no longer works on gift cards. I had confirmed at 11am that it was still working however it has been removed.

Sad news indeed. Also independently confirmed this over my lunch break and was planning on heading back to DG & GS after work for round 2. I guess I'll have to settle with the 15% DG deal. Out of curiosity, were you trying this with physical or digital steam cards?
