Get a print subscription to The New Yorker magazine [amazon.com] for .99 for 4 months or $5 for 6 months from Amazon. The 4-month subscription has auto-renewal (which you can turn off after purchase), but the 6-month offer does not have autorenew.

Scroll down below where it says ".99" and "Add to Cart" to find the $5 for 6 months option, and click it.

The 6-month deal is the best bet to me, as you get half a year and don't have to mess with going back to find more deals as often if you want to keep subscribing but don't want the high regular rate. (I subscribed to The New Yorker on a deal over the summer, and my subscription manager says it would be $149.99 to renew! That sub has ended, and I was able to buy this deal at $5).

The print sub allows you to create an account for access to The New Yorker online as well (the main reason I like to buy these, as I rarely pick up a physical magazine anymore).
