For some reason I don't see the wrench available as a free tool. Thanks though.

The 1/2 inch impact would work well for lug nuts on cars right? I know the M12 ones are popular for that task

If you tried on a phone, try a desktop, or different browser. Desktop worked for me.

Yeah, and the right-angle impact will do lug nuts as well. I use the hell out of it when working on my car.

Lowest I've seen the 1/2" is ~$130 and the right-angle ~$66 (after promotion credit). So this is a good price if you need both.

yes. It has a lot of torque. they say 650lbs of breakaway. the 3/8 and smaller 1/2 impacts dont have as much, but they have different use cases.

And it's good for tightening lugs as well?

I'd recommend never using something this powerful for tightening lugs. The recommended torque setting for most lugs is way lower than what most power tools are capable. Most of the time, it'll be fine to use the tool to tighten, but it can cause damage if tightened too much.

You should use a torque wrench to properly torque.

I agree with @cooltest487. Once I tightened my son's car with the small impact because it's rated for like 180lbs. I figured it would be enough without over tightening. 2 of his lugnuts worked their way loose while he was driving and his wheel was wobbling. I checked the torque on the remaining ones and it was very low. Like 60ish. Use a torque wrench set to whatever is called for. Usually between 80 and 100 lbs

I always use my big impact to get the lug nuts off, then use the low torque setting or my smaller impact to spin the nuts back on, followed by a proper torque wrench to tighten them down to the correct torque.

This is a good deal for both impacts. I have the right angle, gets used a lot when you have the clearance. I don't have this impact, but it was pretty high on my list initially. I scored a good deal on a Bosch instead.

Lowe's already cancelled the 80v Kobalt line. I've got a couple grand of stuff I won't be able to use in a year or two when the last of my batteries fail. Be careful buying Kobalt as Lowe's will be pushing the Craftsman stuff now.
