Best Buy is selling the 14-oz., current version of Ember's self-heating coffee mug. Normally, the 14-oz. version goes for $130 but is on-sale today for $100. (That is the regular price of the 10-oz. version.)

This is the same price as the Costco deal also flagged on SlickDeals today. But if you are not a CostCo member, then Best Buy is the way to get the deal.

These are very rarely on a serious sale. I bought the 10-oz., 1st-generation a few years ago for $65 (awesome deal) when Ember was clearing stock on the old model. Then last week for Black Friday, the Ember website was offering $10 off on the purchase of two mugs together. That's typically as good as it gets.

Note it's only available in blue, which seems to be Best Buy-only, i.e., the mug is not available in this color on Ember's website.

Below is the Best Buy link. Not sure if the deal lasts past today.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/embe...Id=6471969

For those who are wondering why anyone would pay even $65 for a coffee mug, this thing works really well. It will keep your coffee at a set temperature for around an hour if you're away from its charging coaster. And if you keep the mug on the coaster at your desk, it will keep the coffee at a set temperature indefinitely. There is even an iOS or Android app that lets you adjust the temperature to your liking.

Yes, this is a luxury gift. But if you really like coffee (or other hot drink) and want to keep it warm (nearly) to the last drop, this is the best option.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

I got one of these from Costco. My complaint is that it works too well. What I mean by that is it constantly cooks while in the mug. It works wonderfully on black coffee and tea. But I like creamer in my coffee. Since I put creamer in, it essentially cooks to the side of the cup.

I don't like the cup simply for this reason. If I drank black coffee, I would be in love with it.
I guess that's the crux of the matter.

Not as slick looking, but for a whopping 22 bucks you could also get a temperature controlled heating pad to use with your plain old dishwasher safe ceramic mug: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0779QR...ZB3E1MV1X9
I think people misunderstand what this does. They don't realize you can actually set the desired temperature.

I admit these seem very expensive, and they are. I hemmed and hawed for a while because getting one. I've used it literally every day for the last two years. Absolutely worth every penny.

Costco has an ember mug for 99 - not sure if it is the smaller or larger one - I have the travel mug - it works good enough and the OP description is accurate. Blue looks nice.

It's the same one (gen 2) in gray.

Sad that it is not on other colors, would have loved to price match it with target.

I've used Ember mugs and travel mugs since Day 1. When we used to work in hip offices moving from meeting room to meeting room all day, they were invaluable! Working from home, they still work great, since I don't gulp my coffee.

Gen 2 was a good upgrade with improved battery life and larger size, but it's time for them to release Gen 3 with Qi charging and longer battery life, as opposed to just different colors of Gen 2.

To begin with, I got two for $30 a couple weeks ago: https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/fp/668617

And I love them, but not for a hundred bucks lmao

I have the 10 oz from an earlier Target SD price mistake. I love it. Works great, makes taking breaks between drinking coffee possible without coming back to cold coffee lol.

Legit question for those with this: why not just use a zoujirushi thermos? They can keep things hot for days, are 1/5 the price, have a lid that prevents spillage, and don't require power?

If it's too hot in the thermos, you can always invest in those thermal stones that cool down hot coffee some?

Legit question because I just bought the Costco version…damn Slickdeals.
