Too expensive for what it is, you can get a ps5 digital for that price. I paid $240 for gen 4 nvme 2tb for my ps5 and $160 for 1tb expansion card for series x.
Currently have the SanDisk 2tb extreme pro ssd v2 but it's not the same. Currently can't play games made specifically for the series x|s on an external usb drive. Manually moving games back and forth between internal and external is a pain.
Definitely more expensive than conventional SSD over USB. BUT this is the only way to come close to the speed of the Series X's internal storage and it fits neatly into the console.
Despite the price premium, the 1TB version has been a top seller and many Series X owners have been holding out for this 2TB version.
This is the first time we've seen the 2TB available anywhere so thanks for posting!
more practical than stacking 2 xboxes on top of each other for 2TB storage?
switching inputs/xboxes/remembering which game is on which Xbox is not cool. Already deal with that just playing in my living room and sometimes going upstairs and playing that xbox (with different games)
Idk if I need extra storage THAT badly. What's the best alternative to this and speed difference? Drastic difference? Time to google.
There are only two alternatives for Xbox Series X|S:
1. Try to catch 1TB on sale and if you need 2TB you get two and switch them back and forth (which I would see as a pain)
2. Get an external SSD for cheaper and use that for your non Series-optimised games (and for temporary storage of games you're not playing currently but want to reinstall later)
You have to use internal storage or this for the "optimized" games to run. But can run the last generation games off another external SSD
"Not a deal" is the understatement of the week. $400???!!!!! Folks.....
It is in line with other storage that speed (if you didn't catch a good sale). That being said, I'm OK with my 1TB expansion and calling that good. It helps to not be a fan of COD, since if I were to have the last two games plus warzone that sounds like it's something like 300GB
In comparison, an equivalent ps5 internal drive swap to 2tb gen 4 nvme will run u likely minimum around $300-$350 for the ssd + heatsink (higher end/fastest drives even more)
But you lose the existing 1tb for 2tb total
With this seagate / xbox series x for example, you preserve existing 1tb and get 3tb total for $400 (and no tech work to do installing OS, drive swapping etc
Gotta pay to play with the big boys. Or keep your one s / one x another 1-2 yrs until prices and tech come down. And (load) time is money…so…
Or use cheap slow storage to house library and move ganes and data around as needed

You don't do internal swaps for the PS5.
It's in addition to the internal. So you get the 825GB + expansion for internal storage.
Maybe read up next time.
Also drives 3-4x the speed of this drive for for as low as $330.
