This has roughly the multicore performance of a Raspberry PI 4b.
A little perspective.
The multicore performance of this "laptop" also similar to the single core performance of an iPhone 7.
A 6-7 year old cellphone can beat this with one core.
$200 off would be a good deal if this were a usable laptop. But you only want to get this if your prepared to load Linux or Chrome OS on it and tinker.
Who ever thought this was worth $300 to start with was sniffing glue.

I mean yes this is limited. But should be usable. 768p not bad for 11". I use a Chromebook with this Celeron and it is not bad at all. This should be fine if you just browse the web or play some child games. You can add a SD card for more storage. Sure you will have to close apps to open others the Ram will be a problem.
If you load Linux it is a steal. Were this a Chromebook the specs are fine.
I remember laptops with 2GB of RAM and that seemed a lot. Of course 10 or so years ago.

This is certainly a good bucket of parts for $100. And I could certainly support any argument that clarified that by for the kids what is meant is for the kids to learn how to load an operating system that could be productive on this limited hardware. However there's a pretty wide gap between those systems that can run Windows and those that do so well enough to be someone's daily driver Windows PC. Although this PC certainly meets the requirements for the former, the Kano should not be considered a proper candidate for anyone's daily driver Windows PC.
The best Windows portable tablet at $100? Sure, but that's basically a category full of choices whose best first step is uninstall Windows.
Good luck!

All in all I like those $40 piper pi Minecraft kits we saw a few years ago much better, since they incorporate the gpio, but this was worth what I paid. For $100 yeah I'd like it to be more capable but then again I try not to expect much out of toys.
Good luck!

Link to glue?
What then is the purpose of any deal.
Twice as much is a lot. I doubt you can get all that much better for $200 anyway.
Once again just an empty statement.
This is not for someone who plans on using it all the time. Though it might well work if you just browse and such and do not use multiple tabs. You could watch youtube on it no problem.
